Indoor areas

Indoor areas

Indoor areas represent the coverage areas of Indoor location service.

The area boundaries define transitions between indoor and outdoor technologies.

You can draw the areas on the floor plans using the plus (+) button in the taskbar.

Please note that self-intersecting polygons are not allowed.

If there a graph in the site (not the case by default), the transition graph between indoor and outdoor will be added automatically as shown below.

Also, you create an indoor area from vector maps automatically (you can not do that if you have imported a png or jpg images for example).

To do that, click on the actions menu then select ‘Build indoor areas’ as shown below. The job will start and create indoor areas for all floors.

You use the second button (the pen inside box) to edit an indoor area.

The trash button is used to delete the areas.

The black trash button is used to remove all areas for the current building.

Finally, you can use the last button (copy icon) to copy the indoor area between the floors. The procedure is to click on the copy button, then select an area, go to another floor by clicking on the green buttons on the right of the map, click on the copy button to paste the area (the area will have same position as the original one).

You can see the total areas in which the indoor geolocation will work.
