Important Note : AndroidX & NAO® SDK

Since 2018, Google maintains the AndroidX library to provide backward compatibility across Android releases (more about AndroidX). Before AndroidX, Google maintained the Support Library (more about Support Library).

The Android version of the NAO® SDK relied on the Support Library up to version 4.9. In this new release, the NAO® SDK (version 4.10.0) no longer relies on the Support Library and supports now AndroidX.

For developers, this means that NAO® SDK version 4.10.0 won’t compile with the Support Library.

  • People Tracking Service
  • Capacity Alerting (beta)
    • Raises an alert when the number of people in a room exceeds a certain threshold.  
    • Relies on People Tracking.

  • Learning Coverage Reports
    • Get a report of the progression of your deployment as measured by the percentage of your navigation walkays covered with calibration logs.
    • Includes:
      • Pie Chart: Done vs Remaining
      • Bar Chart: Overall percentage achieved at end of day when measurement logs get uploaded.
    • Located in Indoor Location > Measurement Logs.

Improvements

  • Asset Tracking Geofencing
    • Test Asset Tracking Geofencing with NAO® Logger now displays geofence name and geofence ID where tag is.

  • Beacon Maintenance & Monitoring
    • Manage battery count as part of Beacons > Deployment (cloud).
    • Adds a control point for estimating the end of life of a beacon.

Fixed Issues

  • NAO Cloud
    • Errors in Indoor Area calculation relating to self intersecting polygons.
    • Can’t decategorize tags.
    • Error while saving Tracking > BLE Listeners that have already been declared.
  • NAO Logger
    • PDB sync not working on NAO® Logger PROD testing environment versus BETA testing environ.
    • Synchronisation detaches tags after taking evaluation logs.
    • Device ID same for all devices of same device model as part of the measurement logs.
    • Can’t sign in after login fail.
    • Small offset of bluedot compared to navigation walkays at display.
