Two-factor authentication (2FA) secures your NAO Cloud account by requiring an additional temporary code during the login phase. This code will be given by an application on your phone and will only be valid for 30 seconds. This ensures that even if your credentials get stolen online, attackers won’t be able to login onto your session as long as 2FA is activated.
2FA is getting more and more present on the internet, with more and more sites offering support for it. Many mobile applications exist on both Android and iOS, which can all manage all your sites – no need to download tens of applications to secure all of your accounts!
Getting a 2FA application for your mobile phone is as easy as getting any application – just go to the store (PlayStore for Android, AppStore for iOS) and install one. NAO Cloud is compatible with most of the 2FA applications, but if you don’t know any we recommend using the Google Authenticator application as it is a widely used one.
Once your application is installed, all you have to do is head to your NAO Cloud user profile and click the “Activate two-factor authentication” link present in the Two factor authentication section.
You will then be instructed to scan a QRCode with your application, which should immediately start displaying your 6-digits access code. Simply enter it in the dedicated field, and that’s it, your account is secured with two-factor authentication!
