How To: Implement Indoor-Outdoor Transitions

NAO Cloud configuration: Site Services

1. Go to the "General -> Services" section on your NAO Cloud site
   
2. Enable the “Indoor / Outdoor transition” service 
   
3. Save "Save and Next"

NAO Cloud configuration: Indoor Areas

1. Go to the "Maps -> Indoor areas" section and draw the limits of the area covered by the beacons (usually, polygon following the external walls of the building).
   

NAO Cloud configuration: Navigation walkways

1. Go to the "Maps-> Graph" section.
2. For all indoor / outdoor transitions, extend the graph outside for at least 10 meters.
3. Place a graph node just outside the indoor area.
   

1. The external graph should appear in orange.
2. It is necessary to draw and fingerprint Graph around the building, to prevent users being projected inside the building while standing outside.

Do not hesitate to ask Pole Star the best solution to adopt depending on your use case.

Outdoor Beacon

Install beacons the following way:

1. 1 beacon inside at the entrance level.
2. 1 beacon outside at the entrance level.
3. At least 1 more beacon outside, 10-20 meters away from the entrance (LoS).
4. If Graph are leaving the building in multiple directions, cover these as indoor path for the first 15m (1 beacon in each direction) if possible
