How to install NAO BlueSpot V4

Prerequisites

  1. Beacons must be registered on the NAO Cloud site. More information here : NAO BlueSpots Registering on NAO Cloud

  3. You must log in to your site on the NAO Logger Android app (only). More information here : How to connect to your site on NAO Logger

NAO Logger Installation

  1. Switch to "Infra. Install" mode.
  1. Select the beacon on the map.

  1. Scan the QRCode.
  1. NAO Logger asks you to insert the batteries.
  1. Insert a battery in the NAO BlueSpot V4, then a second if necessary.
  2. Check the LED sequence :
    1. If you inserted only 1 battery, the green LED should flash for a couple of seconds before turning off.
    2. If you inserted 2 batteries, the green LED should stay on a couple of seconds before turning off.
Warning
If any other scenario occurs, the beacon is not activated. You have to remove the batteries and start over.
  1. Press "Continue", NAO Logger will check beacon's frames and the number of batteries.
  1. The beacon is now installed, you can synchronize the application to upload data to NAO Cloud.

V4 Standard mounting systems

 The NAO BlueSpots V4 are fixed with 3M dual side tape most of the time. It is the best indoor solution that allows quick and reliable attachment to flat surfaces.

By default, beacon's base plates are equipped with 3M.
Remove the protective paper.




And fix the beacon on the surface by pressing lightly.
Warning
Make sure the surface is flat, clean and dry.

The beacon must be fixed straight with the Pole Star logo visible at the top left as in the following picture :


Use glue to install outdoor beacons if the surface is not flat and smooth. Some glue references E6000, MSP 108 Bostik...



Sometimes, you can choose to screw the NAO BlueSpots V4 onto a surface. For this, you must use the 2 recommended screws and 2 dowels.



You can drill the beacon base plates in the slots provided.


On pillars or posts you can use zip ties. First, you must screw the base to the beacon's plate.



Then, you can pass the zip tie through the hole provided and tighten the beacon around the pillar.
Warning
Be sure to tighten enough that the beacon cannot slide down the pillar. Don't forget to cut off the end of the zip tie that sticks out.



V4 Rugged  mounting systems

Only the NAO BlueSpot V4 Rugged (RGD) can be installed outdoors.
InfoDurable. Meets IP67 requirements: dustproof, resists to water immersion at 1m depth during 30min. Meets IK07 requirements : shockproof thanks to Polycarbonate thick shell. Assembly of body and cover using torx screws against vandalism.



Then you can close the cover. this operation can only be done indoors to prevent moisture or dust from entering the beacon.
Alert
There is only one possible direction!




Finish by tightening the 6 screws supplied with each NAO BlueSpot V4 RGD.
Warning
Please note that a CR-VT-10 screwdriver is required.


Use a 3M tape to install outdoor beacons if the surface is not flat and smooth.



The NAO BlueSpot V4 RGD has two oblong holes that allow the beacon to be screwed effectively on difficult surfaces.




The NAO BlueSpot V4 RGD also has four holes allowing a solid and permanent screwing.



The NAO BlueSpot V4 RGD has holes for zip ties. It is possible to fix it horizontally with 1 zip tie.


Or vertically with 2 zip ties.



Warning
Be sure to tighten enough that the beacon cannot slide down the pillar. Don't forget to cut off the end of the zip tie that sticks out.
