Basic Process

How to Download Location History

1. Select Date Range: Choose start and end dates (maximum 24 hours)
2. Select Assets: Pick one or more assets from the list
3. Click Download: System retrieves location records
4. Wait for Processing: Progress indicator shows status
5. Download CSV: File downloads automatically when ready

Downloads are limited to 24-hour periods maximum






Common Scenarios

Single Asset, One Day

- Input: 1 asset, up to 24 hours
- Result: Quick download, small CSV file
- Time: Few seconds

Multiple Assets, One Day

- Input: 5 assets, up to 24 hours
- Result: Larger dataset, longer processing
- Time: 10-30 seconds

View Path on Map

- Input: 1 asset, select "Show Path"
- Result: Movement trail displayed on map
- Use: Visual tracking of asset movement


Common Issues

No Data Found




Problem: "No locations data found" message
Causes
- Asset was inactive during selected period
- No location updates received
- Date range before asset was deployed
Solutions:
- Try different date range
- Verify asset was active
- Check with administrator

Download Takes Too Long

Problem: Progress bar stops or very slow
Causes:
- Too many assets selected
- Server busy
- Large amount of data for 24-hour period
Solutions:
- Select fewer assets
- Try again later
- Split into multiple 24-hour downloads

Missing Location Records




Problem: Gaps in location data
Causes:
- Asset out of range temporarily
- Battery died
- System maintenance
Solutions:
- Normal behavior - gaps are expected
- Check asset battery history
- Note gaps in analysis



Tips for Success

Before Downloading

- Maximum 24-hour time period per download
- Test with single asset first
- Verify assets were active during period

During Download

- Don't close browser window
- Wait for completion message
- Note any warning messages

After Download

- Check CSV file opens correctly
- Verify record count is reasonable
- Save file with descriptive name



File Contents

CSV Columns

- Timestamp: Date and time of location
- Asset Name: Name or ID of asset
- Latitude/Longitude: GPS coordinates
- Zone: Zone name if inside a zone
- Floor: Floor level (if available)

File Size

- Small: Single asset, few hours (~100-500 records)
- Medium: Multiple assets, full day (~1000-5000 records)
- Large: Many assets, full day (5000+ records)
